Countryman Fairs have long been champions of local clubs committed to nurturing the talents of rising sporting stars. One such club that continues to deliver year on year is the Dove Valley Working Gundog Club who continue to work hard training gundogs and running competitive events for enthusiasts and amateur handlers.

From picking up, beating and shooting over, the Dove Valley Working Gundog Club is for both old and new handlers, whose aim is to encourage newbies into the sport and to the wonderful world of gundog handling.

Having supporting the club for several years now, Countryman Fairs are delighted to have sponsored the Club once more this 2019 season, donating prizes for the Dove Valley Final Spaniel Working Gundog Test at Cubley Estate, nr Ashbourne.

Taking place on Sunday 5th May, the Dove Valley Final Spaniel Working Gundog Test consisted of 32 dogs and their handlers taking to the fantastic grounds of a brand new plantation, planted only a few years go. After a very successful day out in the field, first place was awarded to Morgon Griffiths with his ESS Bitch Bolehill Relentless, who claimed the Follyview Trophy donated by Mr and Mrs Neale Satchwell, as well as tickets to September’s Midland Game Fair.

Well done to Morgon and to all those who took part in this fantastic Test at the Cubley Estate!
